My Beliefs
I believe in each person’s innate wisdom and health to lead to the salve necessary for addressing deep, old, and new wounds. Our bodies, minds, hearts, and souls hold the past and the present, sometimes we can listen with a bit more spaciousness and sometimes it’s enough to survive one more moment in the best way we know how. I believe healing can come in many forms and psychology as a field has some growing pains and reckoning to do so as to address past harms and move forward with that which has been restorative and fruitful. Through a relationship built on integrity, respect and trust, the possibilities of emergence and transformation with the equally valid shifts of stillness and knowing may offer a level of attending and support to our lives.

I am a white, fat, queer cis femme, with shifting needs in mobility. This living matrix that is my life, from unearned privileges to barriers to access to care, has formed me personally and the ways in which I view the sacred process of healing. I believe it is important to de-pathologize and untangle the messages we’ve been told and have been put upon us. My work has developed with trauma informed, humanistic, relational psychodynamic, and depth orientated theories, which could, for example, mean an invitation to look, or decline to do so, at the past as it may influence the present, the relationship unfolding in the room, and other ways of knowing or accessing inner wisdom.

Welcome!
How I work
I’m not gonna promise quick fixes, fancy solutions, or a snake oil cure all that may or may not work for a moment. What I can promise is to acknowledge the hope for relief and move together through the hurt to where you need to go next. For grief work, and folks dealing with loss, our world can feel like it’s been blown to pieces, confusion, anger, despair, and the trauma of it all can feel beyond overwhelming, and we can explore it together while acknowledging how incredibly difficult it all is. Consent is important at all stages. We can touch into the “itchy”, unsettled, nameless aspects of life, and, always, with the invitation not to. Folks in the middle of transitions, perhaps holding anxiety and sadness, wanting to explore and/or just wanting relief, have come to work with me too. As have folks in a place of discomfort with their body’s appearance, fat folks, pain and/or medically diagnosed diseases, curious about embodiment or definitely not wanting to touch into their body but might want to talk about it, have also come to see me.
I work to hold space and honor that which can arise as we listen to your body, mind, spirit, and heart’s innate wisdom. I can support you by offering ideas from what you’ve communicated, providing questions to explore, an invite to explore felt sensations, sometimes a supportive counter idea, or an offer to stop and move into territory that feels less activated. I will hold space for you as a human. And, all that emerges as a living, breathing being at this time and place in our society and in your world. I will honor your process, your truth, and your wisdom of who you are and what you need.
